Jib Crane - Flexible and Powerful
A jib crane is a type of overhead crane which consists of a horizontal boom or an arm (jib) connected to a monorail hoist and is mounted to a wall or a pillar. This type of crane is mostly used in smaller facilities due to its compact size and highly adaptable features. These cranes can also be mounted to a bridge crane and can lift loads weighing up to 5-10 tons.
Types of jib cranes

Wall-mounted
These jib cranes are mounted to a wall and can rotate up to 200 degrees to move and lift weights. Wall-mounted jib cranes need no footprints and can be placed anywhere due to their flexibility. The capacity of the load lifted by the crane also depends upon the strength of the wall to which it is mounted.
Wall-Traveling
Similar to wall-mounted jib cranes, wall-travelling jib cranes can be moved if required as they are connected via tracks to the walls. As these cranes can be moved, they can cover more area than wall-mounted jib cranes.
Freestanding
Freestanding jib cranes are mobile; they can easily be moved around or in and out of a facility. These cranes provide a rotary span of 360 degrees as they are not mounted on a wall.
Mast-Style
They are less flexible as they are mounted to the floor but are available at a much lesser cost than that of freestanding jib cranes.
Workstation
Workstation jib cranes are used for repetitive lifting and motion activities. They are preferred for their efficiency as they can be mounted to the floor, on the wall, or can be portable.
Advantages of a jib crane
• A jib crane is much simpler in design than a bridge crane. Installation and operations with them come in handy.
• Jib cranes are very efficient and are used for lifting repetitively; such efficiency of the machine leads to a great production.
• Jib cranes very little space to operate and are safe, which decreases the chance of accidents or injuries.
• Jib cranes are ergonomic and require very little maintenance.
• Offering very high durability, jib cranes can easily lift and move loads from one place to another.
• Despite being very agile, jib cranes are exceptionally strong and can lift loads weighing up to 5 tons.
• Jib cranes can rotate for 180 to 360 degrees as they have a pivoting head that is supported by the floor.
Hence jib cranes are effective and convenient machines that save time and boost production.
LOADMATE offers jib cranes that need no space and footprints. Their wall and pillar mounted jib cranes provide rotary motion up to 270 degrees and can lift loads weighing 5 tons (or higher). Visit the website for more information.
