Chain block has two wheels on which the chain is wound around. When the lifting chain is manually pulled, it winds around the wheels that begin the process of lifting the item attached to the chain via a hook.

Most chain hoists lifting mechanisms have a braking system that prevents the load from slipping back. Common Types of Chain Blocks

There are three common types of Hand Chain Hoist, i.e. chain block available with:

• Suspended Hooks - a hoist with hooks top and bottom.

• Push Travel Trolley or Manual Trolley – is fitted with a hoist unit that allows manual movement up and down a beam.

• Geared Trolley - is integrated into the hoisting unit with chain. It works through the pulling of a chain that smoothly moves rather glides the trolley up and down on a beam.
